It doesn’t feel right to give this cartoon a like, but the artwork is very appropriate and sad.

This weekend is Memorial Day. Let us not think of it as only a 3-day weekend, store sales, and the beginning of the summer “social season” while ignoring the brave men and women (and children, too, apparently) who made it possible.

Given all the books they want to ban, should “Reading” still be on that list?

The Republican answer is ‘more cops’. That would suit them fine, make this even more of a Police State. We already have more police, per capita, than any country but China.

’Cause stricter background checks, banning of assault/military style rifles, outlawing high capacity clips, mandatory mental hygiene testing, and red flagging gun owners who show signs of instability and/or violence never works any place.

Except for in New Zealand, Australia, Canada, most of Europe, Northern Europe, and so on and so on and so on…. All of whom have drastically lowered the instances of mass shootings and did so very, very quickly. And effectively. Hunters in those countries can hunt. Target shooters can go to the range.

The ILA branch of the NRA lies! The gun lobby lies! The ReThuglicans lie! It can be done. It has been done. And it works.

But they always put profits before children, just like they do even before babies. The same bastards who obstruct gun laws that work for the rest of the world are the exact same ones who try to obstruct investigations into Abbott Laboratories and try to obstruct making the import and distribution of baby formula. They are the same ones who obstruct maternal healthcare, family leave, neo-natal healthcare, pre-K and preschool funding, and even feeding hungry children.

They are no more pro life than Charlie Manson or Adolf Eichmann.

Children are being forced to accommodate the whimsy of gun culture. It’s time to cancel gun culture.

If your first reaction to dead school children is concern for your guns, you’re the problem.

Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy said people need AR-15 rifles to kill “feral pigs.”

Cassidy made the comment to a Vice reporter who asked why people would ever need assault weapons.

He said people who kill “feral pigs” in “the middle of Louisiana” would object to a ban on them.

Louisiana Sen. Bill Cassidy this week said that he thought people still needed assault weapons to kill “feral pigs,” inadvertently echoing an old meme about gun control.

    https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/sen-bill-cassidy-claims-people-need-ar-15s-to-defend-themselves-from-feral-pigs-inadvertently-echoing-an-old-meme-about-feral-hogs/ar-AAXMVT4?ocid=msedgntp&cvid=7c8bc25762664d22b939721e97369a3d

So its alright to kill children with weapons of war because someone in Louisiana needs to kill a feral pig, republicon logic.

Tucker leads Fox News parade of feverish denial that AR-15 massacres have anything to do with guns

Right-wing pundits, particularly those at Fox News, have been scrambling to come up with something, anything that sounded like a somewhat plausible response to the plague of AR-15 massacres, as the Uvalde school shootings this week marked the latest in a mounting list of gut-wrenching atrocities—anything, of course, except gun control. “Schools are soft targets,” so turn them into a virtual bunkers with “single-doors entry”; place armed security agents at the door, and hire retirees to do it; blame the schools for their flimsy fencing or their lack of booby traps. Over the course of 24 hours, Fox News posed 50 “solutions” to the problem—none of which, of course, included any kind of gun restrictions.

Naturally leading the gaslight parade at Fox News was Tucker Carlson—continuing last week’s “waving the bloody shirt” response to the Buffalo massacre, loudly proclaiming indignant outrage at the “politicization” and “exploitation” of the tragedy as a greater problem than the violence itself. Carlson, indeed, not only suggested that any attempts to pass gun-control measures would result in “civil war,” he then cynically blamed mental illness and the COVID-19 pandemic measures for the violence.

This cartoon is horrific. More so because it is true. Lot of discussion about weapons and ammo. All I see is a dead child, killed by a murderer with a gun and a huge mental health problem. So you alleged law makers, please legislate how big a hole we’re allowed to make in another human. We aren’t capable of making that rule for ourselves. We need your immense wisdom…Oh, after your vacation, of course.

Store where Uvalde gunman got rifle was at center of ammo smuggling case

Oasis Outback sold more than 10,000 rounds of ammunition on the same day to an Eagle Pass businessman who gave them to Mexican cartel operatives, court records show.

I am feared by nearly everyone. I am an Atheist, armed, liberal, yellow dog Democrat. Because of the Big Lie, Fox and fake news I have lost friends or 25 years and 55 years. The 55 years I have known every day of his life. Three of these have High School Diplomas, but can barely read. The other has an 8th grade education.

Texas used to be a good place to live. My friend Aubrey Privett said that air conditioning is what ruined Texas. It allowed Yankee Republicans to live here.
