The Sophist Brigade likes to compare the uprooting of the Roe v Wade settled law with the Dred Scott decision.

Except it was overturning Dred Scott which gave people their basic human rights, while overturning Roe v Wade will take away basic human rights!

    See the difference?

Yep. I cannot IMAGINE why the GQP thinks this is even possibly legal, righteous or even slightly in the better interests of the nation. They’re not stupid, though (well, the leaders aren’t). So it must be true that they don’t CARE about legality, righteousness or the better interests of the nation.

They’re NOT pro-life. Institutionally they are against providing ANY assistance for prenatal and postnatal care. Institutionally, they are also against birth control and sex education.

This is not the case for many people individually, but they don’t care to lift a finger to do anything to prevent unplanned pregnancies in the first place, which makes them complicit in the abortion issue.

What is interesting is that over turning of Roe v Wade will only affect the poor and most middle class women. First the rich can easily afford a extra baby, while with others it could be a real burden. Second those who have a abortion due to possible health problem of the child will be in serious financal strain due to a lack universal health care. But the main reason is that money buys anything, if a rich person want a abortion they will easily able to get one since they could go where it is legal and nobody knows what goes on behind closed doors.

The hat should say “Forced Birth”. “Pro-Life” where they force the woman to carry a fetus, yet deny her funding for access to prenatal care, checkups, nutrition, or even help pay for hospital costs for delivery. After they force her to give birth to a child she didn’t want or couldn’t take care of in the first place, they then abandon her (as if you ever supported her in the first place), and cut funding for food, housing, education and tell her that the child is her responsibility and if she doesn’t raise it “right” she will be put in jail.

“Pro-Life” indeed. they don’t give a crap about the mother, and none really for the child.

Women will die of back alley abortions. Hospitals will be, once again, filled with women sick and dying from self-induced abortions. Women are not cattle. We are not a nation’s brood mares.

They also forget that Earl Warren made it a 9-0 decision with no concurrences, not a 5-4 decision with four of the five on the Court courtesy of the electoral college system. John Roberts must be pulling what’s left of his hair out. By the way, throw in Roberts and it’s five of six.

Wonder what a pro -lifer would do should they get raped or their child gets raped?

The mothers life is in danger….

    It’s a different story then, isn’t it?

Sort of sad to see our current quasi-theocratic faith-driven justices trying to interpret the original intent of the Constitution drafted by free-will Deists that believed in good works rather than faith as their core value.

Hitler made the mistake of promulgating a two-front war, something the German General Staff rightfully dreaded. The Republicoup Party is prosecuting a War on Liberals, War on Women, and War on Science, War on Teachers, War on the Poor, and War on Democracy. Sheesh!

The christian Taliban had to wait 50 years until the horrific pre-Roe v Wade was almost unknown to modern day christians to attempt this. Unfortunately for them and their efforts, today’s generation are less christian and more literate.

But..but…there’s a grave shortage of newborns available for adoption (forget the hundreds of thousands of kids in foster care needing to be adopted). That being a massive issue, the next step will be to ban sex except for the purposes of procreation, and the enforcement measures will be, to put it mildly, “interesting”. For those who can’t tell, this is sarcasm.

Get ready for an expansion of the drug war, with SWAT teams breaking into homes to capture … people selling abortion pills. And Border Control will be on state borders, hunting (probably literally) “coyotes” and their charges who are trying to get an abortion in a state where it’s legal.

What war on women? The states will rule on abortion. Call the governor of your state. Consult your state senators. They make the state laws.

If the pro-lifers would add the funding to support the mother and child as well as streamline the adoption process, then rolling back abortion rights wouldn’t be so bad. I saw an interesting statistic yesterday. It seems 93% of US abortions are taken at or before the 13th week of pregnancy. This is two weeks shy of the Texas abortion law. So, in all likelihood, at least in Texas, a vast majority of abortions will go on as before.

Anti-abortionists tend to adhere to patriarchy and hierarchy… which is why the majority agree with GOP congress members & SCOTUS to continue with their scheme to take the entire country, no matter what freedom really is about, back to the time of perfection… pre-1960s. The best, of course, according to Alito, would be the 17th century. (A majority of Americans say abortion should be legal in all or most cases, but many are open to restrictions; many opponents of legal abortion say it should be legal in some circumstances.- Pew polls; Few Americans support making abortion illegal – FiveThirtyEight)They are so mean-spirited about everything. Each state’s republican legislatures competing to pass the most extreme and harmful legislation to punish anyone not agreeing with their cruelty.

It’s an easy control method for those that prefer the tried and very untrue method of ruling through fear. Denigrate half of your population by viewing one gender as inferior. Gives all men, even the lowest on the list power over someone.

It’s idiotic and has no place in the future.

In one of the first years of Saturday Night Live, there was a skit where a couple in bed at night were “visited” by the members of the Supreme Court in their bedroom. One said, “I can give you five years for where your hand is RIGHT NOW!”

    The more things change….

How do you determine when a person has died? When there is no heartbeat! A heartbeat is an indication of life. An unborn child develops a heartbeat at about 3 weeks after conception, taking it’s life is murder.

Real inflation is running at over 70%. The government is lying about the inflation numbers. Shortages of all products are hitting nation wide. Fuel is over $4 a gallon. Diesel is forcing truckers out of business. The murder rate in cities like Chicago and NYC is skyrocketing.

Stay distracted on a single issue my friends.
