Wally, marrying that woman will be the death of you. She is one of the worst. Try adopting the kid or another kid on your own. You will be 100% better.
I worked in a hospital emergency room when my kids were little, so I saw a lot of the results of motorcycling. We lived next door to a motorcycle cop. Naturally, my kids asked what he was riding. I think they were around six when they found out there was another name for them besides “NO! NO! NO!”
I am one of those motorcycle riders…I drive carefully, I always wear a helmet, I wear the gear, I watch out for car drivers who are on their phones or distracted…but I’ve still had 2 accidents in my life…both, hitting gravel on curves…still, I will continue to ride, despite the separated shoulder and fractured ribs….why? Well, it’s like therapy…to get out on the road, see the countryside, feel the wind…and my wife understands and loves me anyway.
One of my high school boyfriend’s rode a bike. He always made sure I had a helmet and so did he. This was mid-70’s so I think it was voluntary. All I know is I never rode without a helmet :)

If it’s good enough for her sister’s boyfriend, it’s good enough for Wally.

I was in my mid-forties, mused about getting a motorcycle, and my mother said, “Sure, you could do that. Over my dead body.”

I used to be on an ambulance crew for a number of years, our nickname for riders who split lanes was “Organ Donors.”
