Do fountain pens still exist? The nuns made us use them back in elementary school. I liked to hold the tip down on the newsprint paper they gave us and see how big an ink blot I could grow. I was always earning Cs in conduct for wasting paper, but at least I wasn’t bored.

The tip would have to be much, much finer than the pen shown. Someone’s pulling our leg (legs?).

I learned cursive writing with ink well and fountain pen! My absolute favorite way to express my style, and flair…
Too bad the idiots at the top don’t recognize how important it is..

Don’t know about the cat, but the pen is a lever filler.

Maybe Kliban’s cats are drawn in miniature and then grow to full size a while after they emerge from the pen.

Is it easier to draw a tiny cat with a large pen or a large cat with a tiny pen?

Maybe the pen drew that tiny cat, like magic.

It could be a fountain pen the size of the Empire State Building.

Had a Parker 51 in junior high, lost it, then received a Parker 61 as a replacement—thanks, Dad!
