I think that if you actually look at the stats (not easily done, because “liberal judge” isn’t a well defined category) you’ll find that that trials come out about the same regardless. Not least because the important ones at the bottom level, usually involve a jury. And also because they all know that their rulings are going to be examined by lawyers, judges and scholars with every possible political bent… and they’re ALL going to be looking at how well those rulings follow the current body of law.
Most liberals do not want to actually defund the police. Biden has increased police funding. Time and time again, more Republicans are the ones that vote against police funding.
The Left refuses to notice the Crime Wave that’s flooding America. They hate it when anyone else notices. They consider it a crime when anyone talks about it.
De-fund the Police was a poor slogan but it was based on repeated abuse by some officers. Retraining and vetting would have been a better message to bring forward. We all know the need for officers but many of us think they approach problems more aggressively and militarily than they need to, often exacerbating the problem.
The real crime wave in this nation has been caused by Cops and D.A.‘s ignoring crime until it’s reached a level that people will vote in ‘hard on crime’ candidates rather than allowing for alternative solutions to gain traction in policing.
I’d be interested in knowing where the right gets it’s statistics on crime. Any look at a crime database – the FBI, the DOJ, local police agencies, shows that crime (in all areas) over the last 20 years has significantly decreased compared to the preceding 20 years. For the last two years violent crime has increased, but other crime has stayed about the same.
The cause of violent crime has little to do with the politics of DAs and local government. It has to do with easy access to fire arms. In particular, ghost guns. The right does not want to talk about that, though.
Yes, crime is a problem just now, but if we can get the leaders of the insurrection convicted and sentenced to jail time, thing will improve dramatically.

A majority of Texans want politicians to address the climate crisis, but broadscale voter suppression means leaders are less responsive to voters’ concerns
