We could eliminate elastics, but Republican politicians block the way. We could do more to fight global warming, but Republican politicians block the way. We could be started working on needed infracture, but Republicans said ‘no’. We could have a much better health care system, but politics got in the way. People that we pay to represent us don’t, they represent big donors and SIG’s.
Today is recycling day for me. I try to recycle everything I can. It’s amazing how quickly my large container fills up, but at least I know some of this material will get recycled. I realize not all of it will, but any is better than none, and I think the percentage will improve. On a lighter note, years ago a company started crushing old toilets and using the porcelain rubble to add to highway asphalt. I hope they were wildly successful, but haven’t heard. We’re gonna run out of landfill space eventually.

Looks about right. I see trash all the time on the trails that I walk every day.
