Putin might have taken a look at his own country’s response when their cities were under siege. Even if he conquers these cities, all of the destruction makes for more places to hide, spring surprise attacks, etc. Maybe he should have read a history of the Battle of Stalingrad instead the faux history that seems to be driving his unwillingness to recognize that Ukrainians are a separate people than Russians?
I would not be surprised if the tanks and troops sent to Ukraine end up turning on Putin instead very soon, not unlike what happened in 1993, but possibly more violent and destructive. Putin will probably end like Saddam Hussein or Libya’s Gaddafi or Hitler. It’s too bad there has to be so much death and destruction until that point is reached.
