The “Don’t say gay” law says nothing of the sort. It forbids LGBTW+ CURRICULUM in school for grades up to 3rd. If the subject comes up from the students, that’s a different matter.

There are really simple solutions to all this, you know. If all you gay people would just go back into the closet so we can pretend you don’t really exist; and if all you women would get pregnant, take your shoes off, and go back into the kitchen where you belong, and leave voting and stuff like that to the men; if all you people of color would stop whining and complaining about what happened two or three hundred years ago – well, all this would just go away and disappear. Pardon my ignorance but isn’t sexual education offered only to older school children? And don’t parents have to sign off on their child’s participation? I have grandchildren 6 through 12 and none of them have been even offered these type of classes.

Outrage stimulates votes.

Republicans can read poll numbers; they know that the bills that they are pushing are not supported by their constituents. That, to them, is not important. The important thing is to increase their power, and that means getting votes. Especially during midterms, voters are complacent. People are worn down from the pandemic. This means that a smaller number of really motivated people can outvote the people who have the majority opinion.

So, the best way to get voters to the polls is to create a non-existent problem that just cannot continue (eg: war on Christmas, “hordes” of ISIS fighters joining the “swarm” of migrants, Dr. Seuss, Mr./Ms. Potato Head). Use the Propaganda Arm of the Republican Party (aka Fox News) to emphasize, exaggerate, flail and wave their arms and scream how the world is coming to an end….and then people wonder how they manage to win elections.

Lather, rinse, repeat. It will work until reasonable people decide to take their responsibility to vote more seriously.

The traitor Josh Hawley is, in all probability, a closeted gay. Probably plenty of others, and we already KNEW that the second favorite person in Traitor Trump’s life (after himself, and WAY before any of his wives or any of his children) was Roy Cohn.

So nice to see the Orthodox, Evangelical, Jewish and Muslim patriarchal religious bodies all agreeing about maintaining their respective sexual hangups. Abraham Whatta’ guy !
