The GOP used to actually be about fiscal (and social) conservatism… and understood that we all live here, and their job was to enhance that. Then they sold out (the temptation must have been tremendous) to the Dixiecrats and big business and have degenerated since. Now, they’re either Trumpists or invited to take a hike, and really do deserve to be called the GQP. A sad and cautionary tale. And by now, alas, they really ARE the enemy of most of our populace.
