The future has this habit of becoming ..now!

That explains why the lady only has a lettuce leaf on her plate. Since lettuce is considered “garnish”, the restaurant won’t charge him for it.

“The future isn’t what it used to be.”

And she forgot her purse.

Your future will not be a present. It will be a bill, then taxes, then death.

So he’s a Congressman?

The lady needs to be sure she “leaves for the bathroom” before he does. :)
