    One of my favorites. I do get upset with “He was the first black actor…” crap. That’s like saying “The blue-eyed actor, Paul Newman…” or “The bald actor, Yul Brynner…” He was an Actor. He won an Academy Award.

    He made his film debut in the classic film THE BLACKBOARD JUNGLE.

    And I remember him from an indie called VIRGIN ISLANDS.
