Do you think smash and grab happens more in big cities because the small rural towns have nothing worth stealing?

I’ll just point out at that “smash and grab” crimes aren’t aimed at individuals. My faith in Less-ter ALWAYS getting it wrong is justified once again.

In fact, when we visited “certain tropical islands” we were told by the car rental company that our insurance would not cover damage to the car if we left it locked, and by preference, please to leave the windows rolled part way down so the thieves would see that the car couldn’t be locked and wouldn’t break windows “by accident”. We considered it inconvenient, but we worked it out by putting the “don’t want it until later” into the backpack I carried… and having purchases delivered to where we were staying. Not convenient, but not toooo bad. What IS too bad: The US is now degenerating to that level of (un)civilization, though we’re still mostly okay out here in the boonies.
