Omicron is here for a good while. Whether it’s ultra-scary or just regular-old-scary is still being debated. But we should all take a moment to thank everyone who worked so hard to make its appearance possible: Thanks to everyone who won’t wear a mask or get the vaccine (for reasons other than legitimate medical ones), and especially all people of influence who have intentionally misled a large segment of the population.
If they survive, we can thank them for the next wave after this: the gift that keeps on giving.
I have long since given up hope for many of those people. I was talking to a friend in Montana whose wife’s cousin’s family wouldn’t get the vax because they didn’t want to grow a tail as a result. Yes, in 21st Century America, people believe that this is a legitimate concern. Oh, and the cousin died within 4 days of diagnosis.
