As a law professor from the University of Wisconsin predicted the day before the verdict was rendered, acquittal was likely. Not because the prosecutor did a bad job, or the facts were in dispute, or the judge or jury were biased, it’s because of the way the law is written:
In Wisconsin, the “I was in fear for my life” defense is basically a “get out of jail free” card, even if you showed up armed (doesn’t matter that it was illegally), looking for trouble, and provoking it. And this should come as no great surprise to anyone who’s paid attention to the police’s own justifications for all the people they’ve shot thru the years.
Meanwhile, Black people, who really do have serious reason to fear for their lives, somehow never get excused for the same reason.
Just a young punk. I am one of those who walk through a construction site to see the progress and would not have a problem with others doing the same if I built a house. The ones I actually would worry about is the three rednecks neighbors with two trucks. See you need a truck to steal stuff off of a construction. They live nearby with storage areas to hide the loot. Yep, they are the type I don’t trust..
Arbury was murdered and I hope the jury come back with the correct verdict. Rittenhouse is innocent and the jury got it right. The facts and evidence in both cases are quite clear, especially if you bother to learn the facts and get politics out of the way.
Yes, some black people have not received justice in the past. That is no reason that a white person shouldn’t.
If the Aubrey killers get acquitted all hell is likely to break loose. It is a scary thought. If they are convicted their appeals will drag on for years. That’s almost as scary because it will keep the issue front and center in the media. Either way we are in for a rough ride.
Lil Kyle’s story is not over. His lawyer was right when he said the kid should go home, shut up and change his name. Being a media focal point is going to be a tough thing for a dumb-shit kid to grow out of.
Watch Jimmy Kimmel interview Bill Burr. Toward the end of the interview Burr suggests a Letterman style top ten list for Kimmel to do. Don’t be drinking anything when Burr delivers the punch line.
Until a few years ago, before the BLM movement, the Floyd murder, and many such white on black crimes leading to black male deaths, I was relaxing in a kind of peace concerning our racial divide. But, events of the immediate past and present have shown me that we still have a lot more work to do to bring us together.
I have spoken about the black folks need to own up to their responsibility toward integration of their lives and minds. But, I see that it’s still the white’s mindset that needs the most revamping. We still have a superiority feeling over anyone that is different from us. As we seem to be drifting back into a Jim Crowe way of thinking, I wonder if being a dyed-in-the-wool (insert your religion here) can be that far away.
I wonder what the reaction would be in 1865 if someone were to say that, in 2021, the shooting of a black man was more likely to produce justice in Georgia than in Wisconsin.
The victims (which is what they were, regardless of the judge’s instructions) survivors should do to Rittenhouse what was done to O.J. Sue the little psychopath for everything he has or ever will have. Likewise that fraud of judge—sue his ass to the graveyard and back. When criminal law fails, civil law can triumph.

But, as we all know, Critical Race Theory is a lie and an abomination.
For the victims of Poe’s theory: Yes, this is sarcasm.
