If they are there to help and not there to advocate for fossil fuels, they’re welcome. Like drug dealers, they’ve been selling into and encouraging our addiction to burning fossil fuels. If they’re willing to help us reform — use their fossil fuel profits to get into more sustainable energy sources, more power to ’em.
Several fossil fuel corporations have been investing in alternative technologies for decades now – particularly Shell and BP. They’ve seen the writing on the wall, and realize that to stay healthy as corporations they have to change with the times…
Fossil fuel extraction companies had/have the largest contingent there. I think it would be smart on their part to re-brand. Lessee now… “We extract the coality from the earth” or “We INTRODUCED electric pumps!” … maybe not?
