    She was clearly loved.

Our porcine ex-president is the most serious threat to our nation since the Soviet Union started installing nuclear-warhead missiles in Cuba during JFK’s administration. He almost succeeded in destroying our democracy. The writers of the Constitution foresaw this, but they didn’t account for the cavil self-serving nature of the Republican Party. There are too few patriots left in the GOP; it is going to be a struggle to maintain our freedoms in the face of such treasonous support for Trump.

The prosecution is correct: Trump will do this again if given the chance. The only way is to deny Trump the possibility of running for president (or any other federal office) again. He’s a dangerous sore loser and he will have learned how to lead a successful coup from the failure of his January 6 attempted coup.

How does one blind oneself in this way? How does an entire political party (with a few notable exceptions) blind itself in this way?

Of course, Hamlet was contemplating suicide in that soliloquy, not ordinary healthy sleep or a lack thereof.

Trump derangement is the madness that allows gullible people to believe Trump’s lies. Trump makes the insulting cliché about men true: How can you tell if Trump is lying? His lips are moving. Believing in a man like that is true derangement.

Clearly, that less-than-half is delusional, fooled by the city-slicker con-man of Trump Tower and Mar-a-Lago. When one is confronted by Trump’s constant lies — many of which fall in line with one’s delusions — then it is easy to believe all the lies.

Several mid-day naps. And a few “did I fall asleep?” in front of the television, too. It all adds up.

Ohhh, keep it showing, Dan. It’s a good beard; don’t shade your light.

Rapture of the Sleeps: that period before they exhaust themselves, when they’re desperately trying to stay awake.
