At any given moment, there are between 5000 and 9000 planes in the air. I doubt the 200 flights to/from the conference are the issue. It’s $hitheads who promote messages like this cartoon.
Gosh, reckon if we can get this “climate change” thingy under control then all of these illegal immigrants will stay away. At least that is what our Supreme ruler and his partner tell us.
If anything much of real substance had been agreed upon, the plane travel would have been worthwhile. As it turned out, the convention was not much more than a college fraternity toga party; or a symphony orchestra of bureaucrats fiddling while the Earth slowly burns.
Glad Ramirez wants to do something about climate change; maybe he can stop posting opposing cartoons when the democrats actually try and take action; something Republicans have no interest in doing.

So we shouldn’t try prevent a disaster by coordinating with other heads of government because flying is contributing to the problem? It seems like a stupid critique to me.
It’s okay to dump megatons of carbon flying Air Force 1 for round trips from DC to Mar a Lago to play golf every other weekend for 4 years but not okay to fly to a conference to slow global warming? Are you Mr Ramirez suggesting that they should have used carbon neutral 4 masted schooners and rowboats to attend the conference? Rode camels? Walked across the Atlantic? M.R. your dog whistle is getting rusty.
It IS rather tacky to fly economy class to a save-the-world conference. Maybe next year they can stay home, video conference, and donate their travel budgets to those countries who don’t have clean water or electricity.
If you cut through the nonsense—there’s a lot of it, so that’s no easy task—the climate remains the most important issue we face. Let’s keep our attention on what matters, not on silly side issues. Will we have the political will to do what is necessary? If we don’t, we’re in real trouble. A Republican victory in 2024 would be a disaster. Literally. But the Democratic mainstream is not facing the seriousness of the situation either. And then there’s China and India and Russia. We’ve got our work cut out for us.
Might as well, 26 conferences haven’t slowed CO2 emissions, they’ve increased every year. 30 years of fossil fuel propaganda has worked wonders. Now it’s too late, we’re screwed.
It’s all part of the belief system that rich and important people are allowed to do things that others aren’t. Alas, it’s a truth in our system. The one minor amelioration: There aren’t so MANY rich = important people as there are “rest of us”. So if we could all just coordinate…

Big business and politicians don’t want to spend the money for such trivial things!
They’re more interested in getting re-elected and getting more campaign money in their coffers….
Money is power
Cowards….all of them

Ramirez is happy when climate ignoring republicans can freely pollute.

Climate change deniers would rather that we just do nothing except continue the status quo… and maybe throw in some quid pro quo…

It’s a long way to go, to take a nap. Poopy pants could have stayed here for that.
