I’m 77 years old. When I was 4 my Dad worked construction on the I-5 highway in L.A., SoCal at a time when highways were being built all over the country. These days my body is starting to give out—knees, hips, hair, health. I still have years ahead of me, but the edifice is crumbling. However I do have some self-healing properties; highways, unfortunately, do not! It takes generations of younger kids’ dads working construction to keep those highways from crumbling, and that’s going to cost a lot of money … but it’s spend the money, or watch a lot of kids, and their dads, moms, brothers, and sisters die in bridge collapses, dam failures, power blackouts, and every other kind of infrastructure failure.

I’m wondering if Manchin and Sinema will remember which party and which people they work for when Republicans start getting indicted for their parts in the insurrection?

Everyone in DC or with any political knowledge at all knew how this was going to play out the day that Biden was elected. The Democrats have asked for the entire universe and the Republicans have declared a victory when they only managed to get the solar system. The package they did get is huge and will have a dramatic effect on society. It also made the things that were omitted, such as free community college, valid negotiable items for the next time we play this game. Ten years ago, that was a daydream.

Now, the Republicans will tell the Magats that they won, since the Democrats didn’t get everything they asked for. Since that means they are still defeating the Democrats, it will keep their ignorant supporters happy. And then next time a Republican is running for office, they will point out the new programs and benefits the Magats are getting, and claim credit for them. And, yes, the Democrats will fail to call them out on their lies and their supporters will believe it because they want to believe it.

the good part of the plan is the non-infrastructure part . . ..

infrastructure is largely just another name for pork . . .Schumer has already told NewYork they could blow infrastructure money on roads to support a taxpayer subsidized stadium for the buffalo bills . . .

Give up Joe.. you can’t win with wackos. Call them out.. go public with all the nonsense and hope you get enough sane members after the next election. And.. pull a trump, start now about rigged elections.

Just like in everyday life, it only takes one selfish idiot (or two) to ruin your day.

It is so, so comfortable to have a president that actually works for the common good, and not only for his own image. But, this is the problem, isn’t it, we’ve already gotten comfortable with Joe Biden, so much so that we fail to see his hard work. Maybe, like Wuerker’s toon, he is a handyman, but with his wheels not touching the road. Maybe with a few more good Dems in congress he might hit the road. And then, look out, y’all.

It’s not obvious what “Samson in the Temple” accomplished apart from killing himself and a certain number of Baal worshipers (who would have all died sooner or later anyway). These two seem to think that protecting the wealth of a small number of people is worth exterminating the human race. I’m grateful that at my age I won’t be around to experience the ultimate flame-out (though if Trumpo is reelected, the End of Civilization As We Know It will start well before the fulfillment of the global warming prophesies).

Manchin and Sinema are both REPUGs in disguise. They are both EVIL self opportunists grabbing what they can by destroying any chance that America has to survive the coming “overkill” effect. I thought the REPUG obstructionists were America’s worst enemies but these two are the more repulsive because they are doing their demolition from within…wait… from within…that’s what the REPUGs are doing…so…maybe Manchin and Sinema really are paid moles? Yep…Manchin is lining his portfolio with coal stocks…. what’s Sinema’s getting out of her obstructiinist efforts to sink America? …hmmm?…

maybe Mr Manchin should spent less time trying to save some obsolete coal job and save some of his West Virginia constitutes lives by helping get them vaccinated, there vaccinated rate is 40%

This is absolutely false. Manchin and Sinema don’t want ANYTHING, they just want to be popular right now.

Manchin and Sinema are collecting as much money from as many lobbyists as they can. They are selling out the dems and our country.
