Two bomb cyclones in the past week, one on the west coast and the other on the east coast, and these dingbats can’t see that there is no choice about building now, not in some fictitious future. Over half a million out of power in Massachusetts, highways washed out in California with massive rain on top of massive wildfire damage earlier, and they can’t connect the dots?
As we are learning, it is not just 52 Senators in disagreement with the proposed taxes necessary to meet Biden’s agenda. Other Democrats in both the Senate and the House oppose several of the latest, last ditch ideas.
I think that Manchin and Sinema and most Republicans understand that global warming is real, but their plan is to get control of the government and get rich enough that they can purchase places to live that are still livable. And if the people already living there don’t want to move, they will use their brown shirts or use the military to move them. And their base are fools if they can’t see that and/or think that they won’t be treated this way when push comes to shove.
I’m 77 years old. When I was 4 my Dad worked construction on the I-5 highway in L.A., SoCal at a time when highways were being built all over the country. These days my body is starting to give out—knees, hips, hair, health. I still have years ahead of me, but the edifice is crumbling. However I do have some self-healing properties; highways, unfortunately, do not! It takes generations of younger kids’ dads working construction to keep those highways from crumbling, and that’s going to cost a lot of money … but it’s spend the money, or watch a lot of kids, and their dads, moms, brothers, and sisters die in bridge collapses, dam failures, power blackouts, and every other kind of infrastructure failure.
New presidents swing for the fences with their initial legislation. Congresses controlled by their parties tend to support them to get the presidency off to a strong start. Manchin and Sinema, though, have stuck daggers into President Biden’s back by their intransigence.

At least they’re protecting us from dastardly things like free community college!
I can see where that would be terrible. /s

We are in the most fragile, dangerous situation since World War II. Look how the Americans are pulling together.

Is there not even one Republican that cares more for America than they do the Republican Party?
