Don’t worry. Pat Robertson will find a biblical reference or get a message from God that there will be the second coming of a Fat Orange Clown to save us.
One of the early effects of the pandemic: Venice’s “canals” cleaned themselves and became clear. And many cities found that the amount of traffic had dropped significantly, with a reduction in air pollution. Even in my little college town traffic was noticeably lighter. Then things began to get back to “normal”. :(
I do not suppose that we want to go back to isolation. But now that we know we COULD do it, perhaps we’ll do SOME of it (note, for instance, the number of people who have basically decided to take their old job and shove it).
Bottom line: We CAN do something to ameliorate the climate crisis. Now all we have to do is MAKE IT HAPPEN.
When apparently 52 people in the US Senate don’t appear to think there is a climate crisis, there’s likely little that can be done here. The same failure to connect the dots is also seen in a number of other governments.

I always find it ironic that such clever displays of concern about the climate change menace comes from a country that thrives on oil and gas sales.
