Saw an article that tried to play on our sympathy for a nurse who has been fired for not getting the jab. My response: “Eh. It’s your own stupidity doing this to you. Sayonara.” Then I read on, and found out she’s been avoiding ALL vaccines for a few years. My visceral response descended to the “Just deserts” level.
Ah yes, the standard of stupidity for regurgitant… the right to steal for themselves and other people in the name of freedom. Of course, they want to consume as many scarce medical resources first. It is the repulsion way.
My rheumatology doctor told me a couple weeks ago – with a huge smile on her face – that she had changed the mind of a patient of hers who got the shot that day.
We need to find a way to be empathetic to the political non-vaxxers who are willing to risk critical illness, months in a hospital and often death vs. doing something that they do not politically agree with. That is an incredible devotion to a political belief that all of the yelling and cursing at them will not change. I somehow have to recognize and try to understand that belief. I have my booster and cannot fathom any political cause that I am willing to risk my life for. But I need to try, out of respect for the individual. Hatred gets no where.
Oh, yeah! The flu vaccine. The one that they GUESS AT which strains to immunize you for this year. Sometimes it works, sometimes a different strain breaks out and it DOESN’T work that well.
Yes, I got the flu shot as soon as it was available, and I got the Moderna shot back in… April, I think. I AIN’T STUPID!
Insurance companies should modify their policies with Covid-19 rules. Vaccines should be required unless there are pre-existing conditions such as allergy to the ingredients. Then they should deny coverage on anyone that knowingly refused a vaccine and later contracted the disease. The potential burden of a huge medical bill might be the push needed to get the majority of the remaining people vaccinated. It works with flood insurance (required in flood zones) , car insurance (required safety equipment) , etc.

GET THE FREAKING VACCINE!
- It’s safe
- It protects you from COVID-19
- It protects your family and friends and your community from spreading
- If you have already had COVID-19, it will improve and extend your immunity AND potentially cure long-COVID symptoms.
What’s not to like?

But if he gets hospitalized with COVID, then he’ll demand the shot…

I’m deathly allergic to both the flu and Covid shots so I can’t have either one. At least I’ve had Covid so natural immunity should help me out.
