I have heard some conversations of treating Columbus Day as a sort of memorial event, rather than a “celebration”.

Please officially rename this day something or just make it a un-holiday and we can have a tea party.

I’ve said for years the best way to downplay Columbus to the status he deserves is to rename the day as Explorer’s Day

There is a lot more to the history of the discovery of the American continent than Columbus, and it should be taught properly
