This reminds me of the strange frog my dachshunds and I ran into the other day in the desert in Southern New Mexico. It looked pretty much like a regular frog: about as big as a small lemon, different shades of green and bumpy all over and it was just sitting there when my two dogs approached & sniffed it. One lost interest immediately & moved on but the other watched with interest as the frog swelled itself up to almost twice it’s original size! Then, in the worst example I’ve ever seen of a self defense system it suddenly started making loud sounds that sounded just like a dog’s squeaky toy! My little dachshund thought that was a pretty neat trick and immediately fell into the “play with me” position (front end down, back end up & wiggling in the air). The frog continued to blow itself up and do an excellent impression of a squeaky toy so the dog started trying to grab at it with his mouth! At this point I decided that my dog didn’t need to chew up a frog (like he does his toys) so I made him move along. But that was the funniest frog I’ve ever seen!

“Break in These Squeaky Shoes”…isn’t that a Little Feat song?

A bit of talcum powder in each shoe usually does the trick. The “squeak” is often coming from inside the shoe.

Do NOT wear those anywhere near the LaBrea sinkhole…(You think you got cat problems now?)

Most of the cats that my recently deceased wife and I had never liked anything that squeaked (even real mice), NOW the dogs were a different matter especially the Chihuahua’s and the Cocker Spaniel we had, the others preferred the “grunt” toys because the dogs were larger (80-100 pounds) and even shoe squeaks got their attention.

Monty pretty much always has been a mousey character.

Adding the squeak! is just the finishing touch.

    Nice kitty!…
