My husband has finally caved to my wanting to get chooks for eggs only :) He loves chicken, and swore he’d never eat it again if we had pets.. LOL! He actually told me I’d won that battle from day one. Wish he’d told me that two years ago!
Be careful of the Free Range label! Some places have been known to allow their chickens outside, into a yard the same size as their indoor accommodations, then tell everybody the chickens are “free range”, cuz they’re out in a yard…but the birds have exactly the same amount of room outside, as inside!!!
Our chooks are free range as long as they stay on the property. My biggest surprise came when I found out they also eat bugs and worms. And they can be feisty.
