How much “pork” is there in the bill itself?

Define “pork”. Money going to states to invest in badly needed infrastructure improvements and development is a GOOD thing. Creates jobs too.

It’s sad that for many GOP congressmen, the only reason they opposed the bill in the first place is because it would be appear as a “win” for the Democrats. Never mind the jobs that will be created and the bridges and roads that will be fixed. I wish it were possible to charge elected officials with malpractice.

“Pork Barrel Politics” had a different meaning than ‘when pigs fly’ as a few might think. Explain to the great-grandkids how the slaughterhouses would put the parts of the pig in a barrel that were considered un-edible for the ‘poor’ people of color to eat. Best time to do that is while watching a cookoff on TV or waiting in line at a ‘rib joint’ to pay a lot of money to eat the little meat left between the ribs of a pig smothered with barbeque sauce. People with money back then could ‘bring home the bacon’, but it was the poor that learned to cook what they had that started the barbeque industry.

and isn’t the media full of praise . . “bi-partisan” in this case just means a malformed senate which represents corporate interests alone, came up with some more pork without rescinding the Trump tax cuts

    nothing to praise

According to most real economist, the so called “infrastructure bill,” that will cost us taxpayers $1.2 trillion (that is unless the dems add more in “reconciliation”), actually has only $550 billion (48%) for real infrastructure (bridges, roads, rail, ports, etc.), and the rest for socialist special interest group spending. I guess it could be worse, the original bill only spent $300 billion (25%) on real infrastructure. Of course, those same RINO’s that voted for this overpriced monstrocity (and total waste of money), will vote for the $3.5 trillion “budget” bill. This will be the largest spending (and unfunded) budget in US history. Of course, the dems will say it is funded by increasing the tax on the “rich,” and the new death tax they are pushing (taking property and money from families upon the death of a loved one, money and property that had already been taxed). Then, the “rich” will move their money out of the US, and people will move their savings and property into trust to eliminate or lower the tax burden, thereby reducing the revenue to the treasury, as always happens when congress increases taxes. This will increase the national debt by over $3 trillion (plus the over $1 trillion for the COVID stimulus), for the largest one year increase of the debt in US history. And you dems complained about President trump increasing the debt. The truth is, President Trump proposed four budgets while in office, all of which included a 10% spending cut for all areas except national security (military), and this was an actual cut in spending, not the fake cut in increased spending that all other Presidents propose. Then congress decided that they would not pass a cut in spending, and increased spending instead. President Trump even shut down the government to try and get them to reduce spending, but they refused. It was the same RINO’s that supported the dems then also. Time to vote in term limits on all elected officials, and vote out these morons.

Keep the faith MB. Nothing passed by congress while Biden is president will matter, because as early as TOMORROW the former guy will be reinstated into the position from which he was ousted by massive fraud!!!!! If, of course, the counting, sorting, verifying and cleaning of bamboo debris has been finished in Arizona. And the Gates of Paradise will open for all true believers such as you to enter to enjoy eternally the benevolent leadership of the Stable Genius.

I see the trolls are upset that roads & bridges might just get fixed after years of neglect and folks might finally get drinking water that’s not toxic. Best true illustration of what trolls are (a literal definition of it in fact) I’ve seen in a long time and yet still prime All Hat No Cattle Cult BS. Pissants (and the literal definition of that too).

Contrary to asndad’s typical BS, real economists have promoted Biden’s whole infrastructure plan that they expect will pay dividends for a VERY long time.

His self-reply denigrating Social Security is typical. There are many people who cannot afford to save for retirement, especially as income inequality has increased, many people go bankrupt because of medical bills and young adults can’t buy homes or even cars because of massive student loan debt.

You say only half for infrastructure and “the rest for socialist special interest group spending” – please list the general categories of socialist spending for us. I did see “Environmental Remediation” which is cleaning up toxic sites left by industries who poisoned the areas they built on. Is that socialist?
