The fog isn’t just about obscuring the facts, it’s also about overemphasizing personal autonomy at the expense of society and bringing FUD to bear on long term consequences.
Hospitalized right-wing radio host in ‘very serious condition’ regrets not being ‘vehemently pro-vaccine’: Family
The family of right-wing radio host Phil Valentine reports he as been hospitalized from the novel coronavirus and is in “very serious condition,” WKRN-TV reports.
If the right thinks that in regard to vaccinations, it is “my body, my choice”; then they must be about to support the right to choose for birth control, abortion, and same-sex marriage.
Meanwhile, there is an eerie haze on the East Coast from fires on the West Coast. The environmental apocalypse is unfolding right now, and will make this plague look like a hiccup.
Read somewhere that the smog enhances COVID’s ability to travel better. All those states downwind of Washington, Oregon and California.. keep your heads down.
I have two relatives who refused the get Covid vaccinations. Neither had to be intubated, but both were in the hospital for a while. One wishes she had gotten vaccinated. And she is very upset that her sense of smell hasn’t yet returned. The other one is adamant the seriousness of covid is a hoax and is glad he didn’t allowed himself to be forced by the “libs” to take a dangerous vaccine….despite his inability to climb stairs without being badly winded and his loss of his sense of smell. It is all so sad and unnecessary.
The worst part about the eerie haze is that its creators are exporting their version of the truth to the rest of the world and stupid knows no borders.
Tonight on Washington Week on PBS one of the commentators said that even if tRump came out and told his base to get the vaccine, because it’s safe, and he needs them to be alive to reelect him, they would still refuse. It has been driven so deep into them that no truth can override their beliefs.

Aren’t these the same people who willingly surrendered their personal autonomy to the government through the fear-driven Patriot Act?

I’m somewhat ambivalent. It appears to be primarily impacting MAGA voters at this point. Oh, well. Meh.

On the other hand, as a result of the fires in the west, sunsets in central Missouri have become quite dramatic.
