So, what do we do stay there forever? Remember the lessons of Viet Nam and Iraq, coerced culture is not true culture. The Russians learned this in Eastern Europe. Apparently the Great Satan has not learned this yet.
Unfortunately, most of us knew this was going to happen. I think we were right to leave, but I fear for the innocents who will be under the Taliban’s thumb.
. A really good idea would have been to just assassinate bin Laden and the planners and financiers of 9/11, but Rummy and Tricky Dick wanted a big, profitable military action and they got it.
I think there was just a slight chance we could have eliminated the Taliban at the very beginning of the war but we went in without having the conditions perfect. The result wasn’t the best. Taking troops from the effort to go play in Iraq was the dumbest thing I have ever seen. We had absolutely no good reason to do that.
We never did actually go to war against the Taliban. We hardly even retaliated when they launched deadly attacks against our troops.
Did we ever actually attack them on “their” territory? Did we ever attempt to find and destroy their weaponry?
All we really did was say that they had no right to rule any part of Afghanistan, while openly allowing them to not only do that, but also to launch attacks of both military force and terrorism against what we claimed was the rightful government.
And we “negotiated” with them? Did we “negotiate” with the Germans after we sent American troops to Europe in WWII, maybe offering them France and Belgium if they “promised” to stop attacking Great Britain? Why the difference in Afghanistan… especially after the “war” escalated?
There is a TV sit com about an Afghan who was an interpreter for a U.S. soldier. Thesoldier brought him to America! There are hundreds who will suffer a different fatefor their assistance to the U.S. Army!

Christianity’s grip on low intelligence people apparently can’t be broken. It’s just a matter of time before it makes the USA into a theocracy.

Well when it comes to Tom and Jerry, Jerry always won the battles. I feel bad for the Afghan people as they were never setup for success.
