Well, this is crappy. Exactly one person has been sentenced to date. Not charged with violent behavior or threatening anyone. Apologized for what they’d done. Fined $500 and ordered to 120 hours of community service. Judge said nobody should think this is going to be a typical sentence. But yes, she’s white.
—) The Truth is coming out: Obviously, Psychic Phenomena are the cause of the ruckus. The Capitol was built on an old burial ground. The so-called insurrectionists witnessed poltergeist activity, and tried to prevent flags flying around hurting people. Windows were breaking themselves. People panicked and took cover inside. So Who You Gonna Call? (—
Well just imagine if BLM, a group of union farm workers, members of the LGBTQ community or any other group of people simply wanting equal and fair rights had a peaceful protest…. Somehow, someway it always seems like the cops figure out a way to arrest someone, often with a bit of cop brutality added for good measure and there would be a good chance that a heavy amount of bail would be set. Same would apply to those brave enough to protest against Big Oil, large conglomerates like Amazon, Wall Street or those who make a stand against actions harmful to our environment but profitable to the powerful conglomerates…..
Now compare the punishment those above would receive to these slaps on the wrist Ted has displayed concerning those angry hate mongers who basically attempted a coup d’etat of the US government. That my friends is the definition of inequality and second class citizenship for many with some political bias thrown in against those who dare stand up to big business and do anything that threatens their bottom line or their image.
I don’t think the Capitol police were in a position to handle this matter by themselves, understanding also that we are talking about multiple views of life from this group. Right-wing populism runs deep in this country, as in many, if not most nations.
Hey-Zeus Key-riste, Theodore! Yeah, I get the white privilege angle, but after six months all you have is blame an under-staffed police force, some of whom had died protecting the lawfully elected government of the United States for an insurrection instigated by the sitting president. Your silence on the actual insurrection is assent.
What will probably happen is what always happens. The people who participated in the insurrection will get the longer sentences, some of which will probably be quite long. The ones who instigated it and stood to gain the most from it will receive no consequences. Very few rich white men go to prison.
The Capitol Police did not “let” any of the insurrectionist “go home” They were overrun and those still functioning were deploying defense. Over 500 are charged, some are still in jail awaiting a fair trial. More will be charged. They are on tape and will be found, home or not.
532 people charged to date for Jan 6 Capitol riot. Estimate of pending arrests vary in number of hundreds.
One case adjudged to date (sentence delivered late last week).
Defendant accused of the single misdemeanor charge of unlawful entry, but not of planning or even communicating with those accused/suspected of planning the event, not accused of any form of violence.
From the AP account following announcement of the sentence:
’ In seeking probation for Lloyd, prosecutors noted that she was not involved in any violence and destruction or preplanning and coordination of the Capitol breach. Lloyd was invited by her hairdresser to drive to Washington to hear Trump speak, her attorney wrote in court documents.
U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said he was giving her a “break,” but didn’t want others to think that probation — and not a stiffer sentence — would be the norm.
“Legally, I could give you the six months, but is that really what we want our judiciary to do?” the judge asked.
Lamberth said he struggled with what would be an appropriate sentence for Lloyd because he views the riot as a serious crime. “This wasn’t a peaceful demonstration the way it turned out. It was not an accident,” he said. “It was intended to and brought a halt to the very functioning of our government.”
He said he was “especially troubled” by some lawmakers who are seeking to rewrite the history of the Capitol riot.
“I don’t know what planet they were on, but there were millions of people in this country that saw what happened on Jan. 6 and that saw what you saw and what you just described: a disgrace to our country,” the judge said. ’
Get back to me on the miscarriage of justice, they’re gettin’ off easy just like I always thought they would, it’s rigged!!!!! accusations after something that justifies this unwarranted accusation actually occurs.
When Trump won in 20216, millions across the country marched to express their dissatisfaction; but in 2020 leave it to MAGA to march to the Capitol building to demand the election be invalidated then make all kinds of excuses as to why none of them should be punished.
Some of the 500 Maga’s are charged with serious crimes, some of them were put in jail and are still there. The upcoming trials will fill in the details but we’ve all the seen the videos of the Maga’s attacking the Capitol Police.

That’s a pretty biased assessment of what is happening. Mind you, it COULD be happening, but it’s not the way the news sources are telling it.

Listen, I’m amazed that people have been arrested, since certain Congress members insist the whole thing was a normal tourism day…
