Good morning!I saw your comment to me on Overboard yesterday re: The Other Coast book about the Rainbow Bridge. That is on my list of books to get. Thanks for the heads up!
Well I did see your comment to “him” on yesterday’s strip, but whether he’ll go back to look at it is another thing. He seems to do a good job of ignoring what other people are saying anyway.
shikamoo, you , and dry, and stel the ol’ bel, noicantspell and puppybreath are just the coolest, nicest folks it has been my pleasure to associate with, even by these impersonal means.I followed the line of comments on overboard the last three days and I was impressed with stel ol’ bel’s comment about the most difficult decision one has to make ( I have made that terrible decision three times) ,about letting a beloved pet go to the bridge.I was impressed with shikamoo’s response in defense of the mean spirited person in question. Her (I THINK you’re a her!) comment was so kindly and understanding and I guess some people would say Christ-like.(notice I did not say christian)I have ,in the past, responded in a negative way to a comment that rankled me and now, before i do that (and saving wear and tear on my keyboard as I pound those keys a little on the hard side) I hope I think a bit before responding….in short ,I would try to think’ WWSD’(-what would shikamoo do?)it seems to me that a person who loves a pet dearly is a person who is dearly loved
Well I’ve just started reading the Peanuts 1953-54collecting. It’s interesting to go back to the beginning and see how the characters develop and transform over time into what we know now.
afternoon people and pets…happy, happy, happy!!!i wasn’t on this morning becouse i decided to do a little maintenance on the laptop. de-frag the hard drive. by the time it was done, i had to pack mom in the car and go.years of experience have made Cuddles an expert at getting stuck in a tree. why mess with perfection? : )
“Aw. Thank you nighthawks. And thank you for saying “Christ-like.” I give him the credit for how I respond to others. When I am mean spirited or rude, I take all the credit.”+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++I cannot imagine you being the latter, Shika!
Shika, I’m glad I decided to get the hard cover collections. Soon I will have all the strips from 1950-1970. From what I’ve managed to read so far, there was an interview with Sparky in the 1950-52 set and an introduction by Walter Cronkite in the 53-54 collection.
I’m presently watching a 1984 matchup between the Quebec Nordiques and the Montreal Canadiens. Great game so far with a bench-clearing brawl to come. I loved hockey back then. More fighting but a lot less of the slashing and high-sticking. I hate those kind of cheap shots.
Shika, I used to be a big hockey fan. I can’t say the same now. That game, and 3 others in the collection, brought back some great memories of when hockey was the one and only sport I was truly fanatic about. Baseball was number 2. But I was introduced to football by my father in the mid-70’s. Not too much later I discovered the NFL. Changes in hockey and my love for the NFL chaanged my view of the sports landscape permanently for me.
You got rodent problems, cleo? Never had any in my place yet…knock on wood, but we recently did at the plant. Something was getting into one of the girls’ candy dishes and leaving other presents on her desk. They got that fat bastion.
Fellow Baby NO I am not watching the telly! Beautiful day, and I finally had a chance to REALLY dig into my gardening, at least the potted and side gardens, not the main one. And I had to read yesterdays gocomics, and I am way behind on DailyInk, 5/7 was the last I read! SIGH!
And it is 12M here, so I guess I will say goodnight as well!
nighthawks, THANK YOU for that nice comment! And as for Shika, if you caught her post, “has a service in the morning”, she is our Minister in Session around here. Her and bmonk. :-)

Howdy Citizens of Dog! My advice, stay out of trees unless you can get back down again!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 12 years ago
Stel there is one strip where he hasn’t been too bad, I’ve noticed. I can’t remember if it was Andy Capp or Calvin, or somewhere else.
GROG Premium Member almost 12 years ago
Good morning, Shika. You have your fair share of good comments – even though you usually make them after everyone else has.

Thank you Grog
BB hasn’t refreshed today, so I can’t see your comments. Oh wait. I can…I don’t have time now.
I replied to the person you and StelBel are talking about on Overboard yesterday.

We also had a racoon invading the maintenance department refridgerators. But they dealt with it in a far more humane manner than the rat.
