Read “Green Almonds: Letters from Palestine” ANovel by Anaële Hermans and Delphine Hermans. There’s another side to the story that, of course, MR totally ignores.
I see Ramirez only sees one side here. It seems things were escalating by harassing worshipers and again evicting people from their homes for expansion. I wonder how Mike would feel if someone came along and kicked him out of his house to give it to someone else?
You realize that Hamas only mission is the destruction of Israel, right? Not equal rights, not homes for the helpless . Destruction of Israel. Period. End of story. There is nothing good or righteous about them.
YUP.. definitely Hamas is responsible for the current.. squabble. Hard to understand why those guys can’t be happy in their.. what to call it, refugee camps?
Many years ago, I took a seminar on desert ecology with a visiting scientist from Israel, a Sabra who lived on a kibbutz. This was in 1968. At the end of the course, he and his wife invited us all for dinner with traditional Israeli dishes. In the conversation, the 1967 war came up in which he had been a participant. We were all being sympathetic to the problem for the Israelis until he told us we had it wrong. he said that the problem was with the Israeli treatment of the Arabs, and until they solved that there would be no peace. He was afraid that they would end up treating the Palestinians very like the Germans treated the Jews. He must be long gone by now, but I think his fears have been shown to be justified.
“Indiscriminate rocket attacks against civilians by Hamas not only threaten a fragile peace but also undermine the movement to establish a Palestinian State.” – MR
I mean Netanyahu ordering raids on Palestinian mosques and evicting them out of their homes during their religious holiday prior to Hamas attacks and then the indiscriminate rocket attacks against Palestinian civilians isn’t at all threatening the “fragile peace” either. Lets keep it real. Bad actors on both sides and civilians are the victims but select US media will only one-side it.
Ramirez manages, as far too often, to blame one party where there’s MORE than plenty of blame to go around. Israel, being the larger, is in my opinion even more to blame. But truth in commenting: The whole damned (and I use the word thoughtfully) Middle East is a septic boil of people who’ve been taught to hate for millennia, and aren’t going to be civil, much less happy with each other until. Hmm. Until forever, seems to me. “Eye for an eye” is only barely better than no ethics at all… and “eye for an eye but ESCALATE” which is what they actually do isn’t even that.
Do not blame HAMAS! The Israelis are blatantly taking homes owned by Palestinian families for generations because a text written thousands of years ago based on oral legends, not facts, i.e. mythologies. For what reason? Proximity to a remnant of a mythological temple!?
Jewish people – Why would you ever vote for a single democrat? They do not have your back. Trump was able to get mideast countries to sign Peace agreements. Biden threw it all away.

Only in your mind Mikey!!! Only in your mind!!! There’s enough “blame” to go around in the Muddle East to just blame one entity!!

Whereas this toon is largely true, Israel’s Zionist government has been pushing Hamas’ buttons for years. Their response was inevitable.

Hamas or no Hamas, Israel has since it’s inception been consistently shooting that bird down each and every time it dared to fly anywhere near them.
