Is it possible that we’ll actually get good at using super-high-power tools in a way that doesn’t jeopardize our humanity, morality and ability to think?

Answer: “Possible” ain’t the same as “likely”.

    The true legacy of Stalin.

In the 1930s, he demanded that all STEM education be focused on RESULTS, no matter the cost. Ethics were excluded from the syllabus. THIS is why Russia produces the bulk of the world’s criminal hacker scum and Putin uses them as his lackeys, so he claim innocence while taking a cut of the action like any Godfather. Vince Lombardi said something that effectively sums up the Soviet/Russian attitude: “Winning isn’t everything; it’s the ONLY thing!”

“A vicious Covid variant has broken through the biological / digital divide to become sentient, and demands a ransom that is more than my meager allowance can afford. Johnson & Johnson and Mark Zuckerberg are working together on this even as we speak …”

The Russian government hackers just might be interested in an educational system that yields an electorate gullible enough to support an authoritarian over a public servant.

Big problem at Panda House. Told the boss; "If gas shortage, may not be able to cut grass.‘’ Boss not happy. When boss not happy, nobody’s happy. Man Panda will ensure fuel for mower, if Man Panda knows what’s good for him.

My wife is a college professor and for years now, kids often can’t get their work off the computer for whatever reason. She would count it as turned in if they could show it to her. Grading could wait for printing.

According to Google someone in Russia has hacked my Google account twice. I no longer use Google, not even their search engine. Stay Covid free my friends.

Russia never really ended the cold war. They are stuck in the mindset of getting revenge for things that happened even well over a hundred and fifty years ago. As, sadly are too many others. It’s that mindset that will keep the world at war, one way or another, indefinitely.

Around here, gas prices rose twenty cents per gallon last Friday as soon as the Colonial Pipeline hacking news was reported… yesterday it was up another thirty cents per gallon on top of that – and only a very few stations had run out of gas yet… expect a lot of gouging, even after the flow is restored…
