I was talking with my eighty-nine year-old friend across the street the other day. I’d come across a good walker and knew he’d been having problems getting his legs going lately so thought he might like to have it. He refused my offer saying his doctor wants him to do as much unassisted walking as possible. He told me he also did his exercises every morning, moves from a Charles Atlas course he bought MANY years ago. I said, “Well, Isaac, I guess nobody has ever kicked sand in YOUR face!”. He had to think for a minute, then he grinned.
