NOTE TO MILLENNIALS: That’s the Berlin Wall being referenced there. It use to surround West Berlin to keep East Germans from defecting to the west.

And in other news, the North Korean pole vault champion today became the South Korean pole vault champion. That is all.

To think I used to think it was the other way round ;).

Well I hope she cleaned up after herself, Oh! Defected! I really must clean my glasses….

I remember the news reports of all the failed escapes from East Berlin and the brutality of it. It wasn’t very comical.

“See the wall.”

“See Jane, see the wall.”

“See Jane wonder what the heck a “wall” is, since “walls” haven’t been invented, yet.”

Ahh the Cold War when things made sense. Me good, him bad.

The education HAS failed in America! since about 2008, they implemented the COMMON CORE EDUCATIONAL CURRICULUM! A huge failure to the kids in this country! America used to be on the top of the list compared to other countries, now we’re at the bottom! Obama, Gates and all the governors except 5-6 accepted this and there was an incentive…more educational funds for those who used it in their states schools! Its was a rip off to all our kids…skimming the subjects and not delving deep into history, etc but making math so ridiculously hard! Can’t fix stupid!

This was before the broads were named Jane and Grace.

NB, the wall is evil because it keeps folk in against their wills, not that it keeps folk out.

I may have mentioned elsewhere on this comic site over the last 5 years or so, that walls are made to keep people in. Not out.

I have a chunk of the Berlin wall. We just walked up to it and started pounding with a hammer when it started coming down in 1989 (or was it 1990). It was kind of a festive atmosphere with the East German guards celebrating along with the West Germans and people from around the world. I was in the USAF and stationed there at the time, so it was no hardship for me to get there. Keep on rockin’ in the free world!

I knew exactly what this meant, but I also read alot and have a history buff brother. Of course if you still want to blame public education we were homeschooled ;{).
