Home run derbies, soccer shootouts and NHL shootouts are all equally stupid and they’re just glorified skills competitions. I think the NHL should bring back OT to what it was before World War II: full strength for ten minutes. The extra five minutes will in most cases be enough for someone to score and you can get rid of the shootout that way.

Mascot games would be entertaining. They’d probably put an athlete from the bench under there if it comes to that :0

As a recipient of about 7 “Croix de Candlestick” medals nothing beats an extra inning night game in San Francisco. https://en.everybodywiki.com/Croix_de_Candlestick

How about fixing the 4 hour nine inning problem, then the occasional extra inning game is no big deal. As Michael Kay says “free baseball!”

The “Man on Second” rule is idiotic.

There was never anything wrong with a tie game.

On July 4, 1985, the Mets played the Braves in a game that featured over 4 hours of rain delays. The Braves were down two in the bottom of the 18th, and pitcher Rick Camp, lifetime .077 hitter, came up with a man on. Camp hit his only career home run to tie it up and send it on to break the record for the longest game in MLB history at the time. Campy struck out to end the game in a loss at 3:55 AM on July 5. The game meant nothing in the standings, but I watched or listened to every minute on TV and radio. If you think that was boring, you are not really a baseball fan.

How about we settle tie games with a good old fashion game of matchup. all players from both teams stand on the infield, the Umps yell play ball and the last team with players left in the infield win the game. only DHs are allowed to use bats
