Hatred and bigotry prevent some from appreciating the" beautiful blue marble" that is the only planet we have to live on and must take care of to survive.

By all means let’s send them out into space, along with the business leaders of the world, only on a one-way trip. Then the world would be fundamentally changed.

I was wondering why I was seeing Michael Collins quotes everywhere.

Michael Collins sadly underestimated pigheadedness.

A nice thought. But …

Considering that there are still people that say the moon landing was fake, Michael Collins gave the public too much credit.

Shoot politicians out 100000 miles into space? I’d put a dollar in that jar.

I would settle for sending congress to France, Italy, Spain, China or Japan to ride on high speed trains that are comfortable and on time. Maybe they would learn that we are far, far behind much of the world depending on airplane and car for trip of 200 miles or less.

Raising a toast to a true Pioneer. Thank you, sir. I wish there were an afterlife for you to explore.

I doubt that.. political leaders don’t look much past their own coffers.

If they could see the Earth from outer space, they’d just claim it was all fake – and claim that the proof is that it doesn’t look flat…

I also like the rather coarser way that Ed Mitchell put it:
