I will agree with all of you that the use of petroleum products is ruining the planet, but unless you live on a farm and employ the use of farm animals(mules to pull your plows, cows to supply your dairy products), then you are as addicted to petroleum as I and the millions of others are. Nearly everything that we use is produced, transported, or in some fashion brought to us by the use of petroleum. Remove the political arguments and the prospect of profits and you will never hear the term “alternative energy” again.

Even the coalminer’s union has said that they are eagerly awaiting alternative energy so they can get newer and better energy jobs.

    https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2021/04/coal-miners-union-lobbies-for-jobs-in-renewable-energy/

I guess the GQP can’t use the ol’ “save the coal jobs” excuse anymore.

It’s amazing how conservatives fail to believe in American ingenuity. As for me, I’ll place my bets on America being able to create, design and engineer new technologies to replace these 18th/19th/20th century ones the GOP wants to keep pushing.

Conservatives need to have a little faith in America for once.

Um, Mr. Ramirez, the sun’s rays come through clouds, that’s why even on a cloudy or rainy day it’s always brighter out than it is at night. Oh, and just for the record, night happens because of the the earth’s rotation, not clouds.

Mr. Ramirez has never heard of hybrid drive vehicles?

Or advances in battery technology which will sooner or later render liquid-fueled vehicles obsolete?

Mr. Ramirez is also unaware that petrochemicals are a limited resource that we humans are using up?

I admire Mr. Ramirez’s art. It is sad to see such talent used in the service of misleading viewers, justifying poor choices, and outright lies.

    Hi, Mikey.

The electricity made when the sun shines is STORED (what a concept) in things called BATTERIES. So it can be used LATER.

I hope that’s clear. I tried to avoid big words.

Ramirez, green cars don’t work that way and are actually quite comfortable and have good power, and can go the distance. A cute cartoon though but you missed the boat on this one.

There are a few solar powered EVs out there, like the Aptera, but even they don’t rely entirely on the sun for their power. And they still use large battery banks for powering to EV. This toon promotes the worst of the myths about EVs. Now Mike can keep his ICE cars, as I still have an ICE truck, and keep polluting away. My Leaf is driven mostly, and the Dakota is solely for the few long distance drives.

Heheh the “Beast” turned into a bunny, Perfect Mike. Of corse the looney left purposefully ignores the point and message behind the ‘toon which illustrates the absurdity of this insane new green deal.

Along these lines the Climate Summit was an absolute disaster riddle with technical difficulties with heads of states talking over one another or sitting in dead silence, echoes, reverberations, feedback etc. One would think that after a year of the world being forced to switch to online meetings via Zoom and such, the leaders of the and their staff could figure out how to do this without any problems. Then there’s slow Joe Biden’s embarrassingly absurd performance. First, he’s sitting alone behind a desk in a videoconference and he’s WEARING A MASK. Were any of the other world leaders wearing a mask. No of course not, why would they. Personally been on dozens of videoconferences and never saw anyone wearing a mask, it kinda defeats the purpose. Second, most heads of state had their national flag or symbol displayed behind them. Not Biden. Joe and his Democrat handlers so disrespect America that they couldn’t even be bothered to have our flag on display during the summit. Then there’s slow Joes performance in addressing the summit, an embarrassing disgrace as always.

If your average MAGIDIOT ever tried to think about an EV and solar energy at the same time, it might believe that is how EVs actually worked. However, they can’t hold multiple thoughts of conservation at the same time, let alone realizing the use of solar energy to power the car is not so concrete.

    Ramirez, in 1921:

    “Get a horse!”

“If God had meant man to fly, he’d have given us wings!”

“Candles were good enough for my grandfather, they’re good enough for me!”

    “Radio is a fad!”

This car has a gas tank as well as a solar cell array. This seems to be more than a hybrid-electric car. Who forgot to gas up the car and drove it till the batteries were drained.
