We stimulated the mortgage company, the gas and electric provider, the cable and internet services…

My standard response is “I do not contribute to telephone solicitors. Remove me from your calling list”. This is especially true when you find out the telephone solicitors take about 70%+ off the top as their fees.

When I look at the ridiculous junk mail and spend time dodging professional telephone annoyers, I think: what we need is a Freedom From Information Act. Why is it easier to get a restraining order against a stalker than to stop this telephonic harassment?

I used a good chunk of the stim check to support the local Girl Scout cookie drive.

How about I just send them the 8% of whatever your asking for, directly.

Over 20 years ago, I got a call that was supposed to be a State Trooper group soliciting money to buy teddy bears for kids who had been in car accidents. It sounded vaguely familiar. I asked them to mail information. Oh, we were living a short walk away from the Highway Patrol post. (They never heard of the group)… and my husband was the town’s police dispatcher.
