I wish that we could send all of the Republicans and some of the Democrats to Europe to ride the TGV in France and similar trains in Italy and Spain – so the would see what they have and we don’t. Infrastructure might seem worthwhile.
Republicans aren’t necessarily against infrastructure. They’re just absolutely against whatever the Biden administration wants to do, and will prevent it if possible. If they succeed they will then campaign by saying, “Democrats didn’t keep their promises about infrastructure.” But they won’t have a program to fix infrastructure and will do nothing. Everyone write to Joe Manchin and tell him to stop being an honorary Trumpublican and blocking the Democratic administration from projects that are good for America, especially H.R. 1.
@MontanaBill Your source, please. The usual rules apply, it must be a credible source which leaves out Fox News, Breitbart, Newsmax, OANN, InfoWars, and all the other CT sources.
For being elephants, the Republicans seem to have very short memories. It appears they have already forgotten about the three interstate bridge collapses in the last several years. Engineers report that quite a few more are barely hanging on.
“Those who are in favor of new infrastructure, please exit the vehicle slowly and carefully. Those who are not in favor of new infrastructure, please move to the very front of the vehicle and wait for the consequences of your short-sightedness.”
I’m all for this if there isn’t a huge amount of pork involved. I once saw a report on how many dangerous bridges there are in the USA, and it was very scary.
I’d be happy if they’d finally repave my paved road and stop putting a bandaid on it tar and chipping it. Tar and chipping is great for a country road with low traffic, not so much in a residential neighborhood.
The Regressives aren’t opposing THEIR version of infrastructure. They’re opposing all those other things that they claim are NOT infrastructure (they are). You know, things like helping people get an education and enough food and adequate housing and access to the internet. All of which are “societal infrastructure”… and all of which make the qpublicans crazy because NONE of them “help” the already obscenely rich and ALL of them actually help people who actually need the help. Arrrrgh!

You can only have infrastructure investment if you can get to the other side…

republicans KNOW what “infrastructure” is, it’s ALL listed in a broadside from 1775, and nothing else matters.
