The irony being that the school’s very next game was against my alma mater. The town in question is very literally adjacent to my family’s property; you can hit the Duxbury town line from my parents’ back porch.

Read the news article on this, and fine they should fire the couch, but to cancel the school’s remainder of the season is over reach. Or are they trying to punish the players for the coach’s stupidity??
When I was in high school on the basketball team, our private school has a large Jewish population and three members of the starting five were Jewish. So as a joke, we as players decided to name a fairly routine in-bound play under the basket as “Israel”. During the first game we tried it, the other team literally laughed so hard when they heard us call it that we got an uncontested basket. After a while other teams began to catch on to the “Israel” play so sometimes we would call that play and then run something else.

So, instead of yelling “OMAHA!” the quarterback yells “FART LAUDERDALE?”

In college the audible to cancel a guard pulling was “smegma.” (No pull)

What worries me is that we may soon see a high school or even college coach NOT be fired for using anti-Semitic or other racial phrases.

It’s a shame coaches don’t practice what they preach.
