The rule is "Please apply at one of the places we’re set up to handle your needs. But what’s ACTUALLY happening is that folks south of the border are getting distorted information from coyotes and others telling them to get over the border ASAP to take advantage.

Hard to believe that they really are native coyote smugglers when they are wearing Stop The Steal T-shirts.

Must be a coincidence too that the new administration is scrambling to find enough foster homes and livable accommodations for this surge of predominantly male teenagers.

The Fat Orange Clown’s arrangements and preparation for border crossers almost match the level of COVID-19 management.

Border situation, political correctness by banning Mr. Potato Head and Dr. Seuss, budget busting COVID relief bills, I’m sure I’ve left out other alt-right devised “crises”.

Trump screwed up America for 4 years. It will take a lot of work to fix it, and putting the Donald in jail will help.

I’d criticize the border situation more if I has any idea what would be a good solution. Keeping in mind that a good solution for me involves acknowledging the suffering of other people as meaningful and not just wanting to serve my own interests.

Whenever you say anything about limiting immigration you’re accused of being racist since the surge is coming from Mexico which translates as anti-brown skin. I don’t care if they’re whiter than white and they’re coming from Norway… America is full, the world is overpopulated and the only resolution I can see is enlightened humane world wide population control.

If Biden “aggravated” the border crisis, he did so by getting elected and by being a humane, law-abiding person, unlike his immediate predecessor. As a result, he now has to spend some of his attention to fixing the inhumane policies left behind by Mr. Trump and Stephen Miller. Keep in mind that Mr. Biden is fixing the US Pandemic management situation, left behind by Mr. Trump. This did not have to be this way.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott in Dallas on Wednesday about the growing surge of migrants at the U.S. border with Mexico. The governor directly blamed President Joe Biden’s open borders policies for the humanitarian crisis.

Governor Abbott spoke at a hotel located across the street from the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas where FEMA is housing some 3,000 teenage boys ages 15 to 17. Breitbart Texas reported the teens would stay at the convention center for up to 90 days.

“These sites are a direct result of President Biden’s reckless open border policies that are causing a surge in crossings and cartel activity,” Abbott said. “The administration has yet to provide answers that Texans deserve.”

“U.S. Health and Human Services will open the center to take some of the strain off Border Patrol, which is not supposed to hold children for more than three days but has been forced to do so for much longer,” KXAN added. “At least 3,000 children had been in custody longer than that 72-hour limit.”

The Biden administration claims that it is sending adults and families back because of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) coronavirus order but is allowing children — or mostly older teens — admission into the country.

The Austin NBC affiliate’s report continued:

According to Abbott, Biden’s administration needs to provide information on where these migrants have come from and a timeline of how long they’ll be in Texas/the U.S.

The governor said that so far this year, 11,000 minors have been apprehended crossing the border into Texas, which he claims is a 60% increase between January (which was under the Trump administration) and February.

“On Monday alone, the Border Patrol took in about 280 child migrants in the Rio Grande Valley sector. America needs to know how these children — some are young children — are coming across the border and who is it that is helping these children across the border,” the Texas governor explained.

Is Lisa so privileged that she has never had to “take a number”?

The machines don’t work like that. The numbers are kept in the machine and dispensed one at a time.

Meanwhile, in her portrayal, no one is even there to take a number. Does she consider that to be something “bad”? (Her usual portrayals seem to be intended as accusations.)

Amazing that Biden, even before he was sworn in, basically said that he was going to cancel President Trumps boarder policies and that all would be welcome in the USA. Now that everyone south of the boarder took him at his word and flooded north, all those on the left are blaming Trump for the boarder crisis. Crazy.

Having spoken with Mexicans about why they came, their answers might surprise those of you who are certain it is for political freedom, safety, escaping persecution, etc.

It was explained to me that, because of the Foreign Exchange Rate, they could come up here and earn US dollars, then take (or send) that home where it was worth several times as much. One young man explained that he planned to use the money he was accumulating, despite being cheated by employers because of his illegal entry status, to buy an estate for himself and his family near the Pacific coast in Mexico.

This is not unlike our expats who find their retirement income is worth much more in Latin America. It is just people benefitting in a small way from the same artificial FOREX mechanism that allowed conscienceless entrepreneurs to eliminate much of our manufacturing (and the associated jobs) by using $US to buy factories and labor overseas very cheaply, then ship the goods back here to make a killing by selling the goods here for $US.

The illegal drug trade also plays its ugly part. The only reason drug ‘lords’ can get rich is because the drugs are illegal, while so many are willing to buy them. (Disclaimer: we don’t do drugs, not even the legal ones like alcohol, coffe, tea, tobacco, caffeinated soft drinks, etc.) If we legalized the drugs and let the FDA regulate them, while making people legally responsible for whatever they do regardless of drug use, and letting businesses require (and test for) drug-free employees to make the workplace safer, we could seriously reduce the human harm that results from illegal drug trade.

We opposed the ‘border wall’ simply because we already knew the drug lords tunnel under the border, killing the peasant press gangs who did the tunneling so no one would tell about it. Securing the border requires ending the drug trade, which means legalizing the drugs. Wars on drugs don’t seem to eliminate the illegal drug trade. Legalization and regulation might.

Thank you, Lisa, for a cute cartoon about a serious subject that is the ‘fault’ of no single administration over the last several decades. It is good to laugh at ourselves from time-to-time.
