When I think of the anxiety tests used to engender. . .and, to think, NOBODY, in my entire 50-year working career, ever wanted to now the date of the battle of Hastings, when the Spanish Armada came to town, when Lincoln was president. . .they did, however want to know if I could read/write/follow instructions and if I knew how to look things up (research, doncha know).
mom is also delaying doing all those other things the husband noted … and she is using her son’s “fever”, which she darn well knows is not true, to get out of it. like son, like mother …
