As for cursive, very few people can read the print of just a couple hundred years ago. And yet, those who attempt to learn it do so very quickly. The obsession with cursive is curious, as if it were the magic key to enlightenment. My entire generation learned cursive, as did previous generations — and judging by them, cursive was not that key. Mind you, my 20-something kids DID learn cursive in public school, but they (like me) never employ it.
Every high school student should be required to view “Good Night, and Good Luck”. Most enlightening, well-scripted, top-notch acting, and the musical soundtrack is wonderful.
Generations don’t inherit anything, that’s not how it works. And why would someone this young be talking about the writing on the wall, a very old phrase that I’ve not heard in decades?
