If this is winning, then I’m tired of it. (I’m sure that will be misunderstood.)

Not yet, Friend, we have just begun a very long overtime session, with no more time-outs. Hang in there.

Yes we are winning. Vaccine rollout is faster than expected. But we still have a a several big opponents on the schedule.

First there is Stupidity State. Under the influence of former Coach Trump, they believe that the virus, in spite of 1/2 million+ deaths, is a hoax.

Next there is Rude U. with it’s power guard, Ted Cruz. “I’ve been vaccinated, so I’m safe. I don’t have to wear a mask. If you don’t like me infecting you, you are free to leave.”

Finally, we have to get through the Fake News Four: Fox News, Q-Anon, One America Network and NewsMax. “Why is Biden still wearing a mask? It’s all showmanship. He’s politicizing mask wearing.”

We are, at least, trying to do something. As opposed to the curious notions of citizens who decried the virus as “a hoax” and are now desperately trying to cut in line to be vaccinated against this “chimera”.

It is endemic now. Too many people failed to use precautions to prevent it becoming established in human populations and too many variants occurred. If lockdowns had been used more logically and often in many parts of the world (and the U.S. is not excepted from that) then it could have been a disease with a chance of its defeat, but not now. Expect it to rise and fall, expect to regularly need vaccines just as with influenza, expect certain types of precautions to become the new norm, and expect new advances in both disease prophylaxis and treatment. Sorry. Just the epidemiological reality…

No, because the dumb-asses are ignoring the hygiene and are fouling everyone.

To all those for whom the Covid-19 Blues has become a constant drag – Hold tight to your loved ones, your friends, and your beliefs. That’s it. Hold tight. The light will come.
