You know, I notice a recurring strip format in Big Nate, in the 1st and 2nd panel, he asks a question gleefully while Mrs. Godfrey just stands calmly. Then Nate gets a straight face and Mrs. Godfrey asks a sarcastic/matter-of-fact question in the 3rd panel. Lastly, Nate gets a miserable expression in the 4th panel. How many times have I seen that?

Story arc idea: it takes place during prank day and nate once again is going big with his pranks. However he pulls a prank that goes horribly wrong and it results in catastrophic results and/or injury to the students and staff of the school. Because of this, nate goes to court and is sentenced to spending the whole summer doing community service

I started running through the town at an incredible speed. I heard them fire tranquilizer darts that zoomed past me(the SCP foundation, unlike the GOC, aims to capture, not kill). A helicopter zoomed overhead, throwing down canisters of sleep gas in front of me. I held my breath and ran through. A jeep slammed into me, smashing me onto the street. I was hurt, BADLY. I went through another emotion: Pain. I subconsciously put up some shields and turned semi-invisible. I quickly limped off into the nearby woods. I collapsed behind a group of bushes. When I woke up, all my wounds were healed and I overheard two guards talking.

Theory: Nate get the whole class to go on strike until Mrs.Godfrey re-arranges the desks. She moves them one inch to the right, except Nate’s. She moves Nate’s desk right next to hers for the rest of the school year. All the other kids stop striking and start laughing. Arc over.

BIg Nate and the Big Event – Part 11

It’s a great feeling, a thing you did, becomes popular. That’s how I feel with our comic. Almost all my classmates was reading it!

I thought it was about to be a good day, but then, Randy came to me.

“What do you want?” I asked.

“There’s note for you, dweeb”, he answered.

When I read a note, I desperately tried to find my friends.

“Guys! GUYS!”, I wheezed, when I finally ran to them.

“What’s wrong?”, Teddy asked.

“Read this”, I showed the note.

The note was saying:

“Hey, losers! Your comic is SO lame, you shouldn’t even try popularizing it. We know, what you did, but you have no chance to win. HAHAHA! Smell you later, Nolan and Zach”.

At the schools I went to they had desks that fit 2 kids and most of the time they were pushed into tables so 4 kids would sit together. This was pre covid though

Groups of 4 worked in my classroom. Sometimes a 5th desk was added if there were 1 or 2 remainders. Students got to submit their ideas for groupings. Most of the time, they organized themselves well.

As far as I’m concerned, I’m with Nate on this one. Not that the arrangement of the desks matters—but her dismissal of him, and her manner, shows she is not fit to be a teacher. When I taught (at the university level), I always treated all of my students with respect, regardless of my opinion of their comments.
