My first thought was “did he fall off the wagon”; then it was “so glad no one else was hurt”. Reports say no evidence he ever applied the brakes when he lost control. So yeah, I’m glad no innocent bystanders were collateral damage.
Mr. Tiger had demonstrated questionable driving skills in the past, so with his status I was surprised that he still drives himself… I hope he recovers well, but there are more important issues today than his future golf game.
I was not one of those that wondered about his golfing career. I hope too that he is able to walk well. He might use this as a time to retire, but should he have the ability to walk, he’ll have the ability to golf. This injury with seriously change his swing, but he’s been through something like this with his back trouble and he came back strong. As a non-golfer, I expect to see him on the links, yet, but he’d have a great opportunity to represent the sport among minority youth.
I was impressed w/ him when he first showed up on the TV Golf channel (Spouse loves that channel). And then very impressed. And then astounded … and then he turned out to be kind of an a-hole (no real surprise) … and then it turned out that his incredible mental drive had pretty much ruined is more normal body … and now I’ll be very surprised if he ever golfs professionally again. Also very surprised if he does NOT continue to “do golf” in a lot of other ways.
I am hoping he heals well without any more surgery and that after proper therapy he is able to walk again. Do I want to see him on the course? Yes. But that is just my ego talking. All the best Mr Woods.
Given the state of the world, the state of the union, and the state of our citizenry, anyone who is not a personal friend of Woods has got his/her head up his/her ass if s/he pauses to give a good goddamn about Woods’s misadventures. Who among such people cares 1% as much about the homeless as s/he cares about Woods?

I was never a golfer but I hope he recovers okay. From the descriptions on the news, it sounds like his leg got messed up badly.

My first thought was “why is an athlete being in a non-fatal accident taking up 10 minutes of a 30 minute national news broadcast?”.

That’s exactly what I thought. The next though was, I wonder if he was intoxicated.

From what’s been said, it at least sounds like he’ll likely walk again. That should be his priority right now.
