The constitution grants freedom of speech. That means that the government will let you say anything you want to. In later years, it has been interpreted by the courts to be somewhat limited to not allowing deliberate damage, but it was NEVER any guarantee that you could say anything you wanted to without suffering whatever consequences your fellow Americans might decide were appropriate.

The collateral damage which can be directly attributed to Trump is absolutely mind boggling in its scope!
