When I worked south of town and lived “north of the river”, I had to make a map for my co-workers to get to my house, The map was an 8.5 × 11 sheet and I humorously ( I thought) put a dotted line at the top indicating “Iowa State Line”. Several people said they couldn’t come because it was too far.
