The GOP is split between the American democracy group and the fascist Trump authoritarian group. They are tearing each other apart.

They have Trump Derangement Syndrome (type 1, in which they think he’s powerful, important and good). And they have noticed that he is attractive to almost half the voters. So they feel they can grab their share of those votes by joining the kookaid brigade. It may even be true. But it is simultaneously VERY depressing for the rest of us.

He thinks he’s the next Joe McCarthy, and in a way, he’s right.

Actually, it will work for ANY Trumpian (republican) who does not need a majority to get him or her self elected.

The republican party is actually quite small, these days, but the number of idiots, imbeciles and morons extant in America, who are quite willing to believe ANY unsubstantiated fact that happens to agree with their “perceived” beliefs is growing by leaps and bounds.

Stupidity , while it is not YET the majority, it rapidly gaining ground over knowledge!

This congress consists of the looniest I have ever seen! They’re slitting their own political throats! Disgusting!

Those senators that will contest the electoral college vote certification need to be punished. This is idiocy. I want to see Democratic senators move to refuse any of the newly elected Republican Senators to be seated, the same in the House. If you’re seditious, if you do not believe in democracy, then you do not get to sit in the House or Senate. I wonder if anyone in Congress has the courage to confront and carry this out!

I hope that this backfires on the whole bunch of them. Hawley wants to run for president in 2024 and we all knows what Trump does to people who stand in his way.

NO ONE ever claimed that Republicans were smart.

Ted Cruz has now bullied his way in so he can take credit and hog all the publicity. What a s**tshow this is going to be.

Hard to see how this group figures it will help them in the future. How will they argue that elections even matter.. If the results are not what you like.. just ignore them.

This whole exercise shows just how precarious American democracy is. Except for the fact that the democrats have the majority in the house this effort to declare the election null and void will likely fail. But… imagine how this scenario could play out if the republicans had control.

What is going to take place on Jan 6 by Trump and his band of trumplicons will go down in history as another national disgrace. One of a multitude of disgraceful actions by Trump and his spineless sycophants who continually display their contempt for democracy and this country. A national day of Trump a$$ kissing by a bunch of lowlife, grifting, Bigfoot believing creatures that have no honor or character.

Someone, please? Remind us all of the definition of “insanity”?

Meanwhile, the country is ravaged by the virus with no leader to organize the vaccine distribution, Iran is enriching uranium, China and Russia are getting together to increase their weapons of war and who knows what North Korea is doing! We need a leader! By the way, does that bomb wearer look like Jared?

The Republican Party is the modern day Joe Colombo, Trump is a modern day Crazy Joey Gallo and Ted Cruze is his modern day Jerome A. Johnson. Delusional Ted is going to take his shot for Crazy Trump and the Republicans will end up in a coma for the next few years.

When they are tried and convicted who will represent the republican party?

Thanks to everyone for the comments/explanations ♥ I’ve lived with my 2 brothers for the past several years; we’re in our 60s-70s. There’s no singing but we’re grateful for the legacy of our Dad’s sense of family and Mom’s sense of humor. It has sustained us well.
