I (almost) hate to bring up a sensitive subject, but this is why kids need a mother AND a father. Mothers instinctively want to protect their children from harm, just as Heart’s mom is doing now, while a good dad would spur his kids to adventure. Kids need both, and when they don’t have it, they are deprived in my opinion. I am speaking in general terms, of course, and there are exceptions. Too bad Heart doesn’t have a good father.
