But it didn’t matter (unless the news is different when I wake up tomorrow).

The Republicans now feel like they weren’t given an adequate chance to suppress the vote prior to the election. So now they are litigating for the right to suppress votes that have already been submitted, but have yet to be counted.

What a lovely tribute, Mike! Now let’s hope their votes are counted! Go Jon Ossoff!

49% of the voters looked Fascism in the eyes over 4 years and rushed out to hug it. Fox News and the RWNJ-media has killed America. We’re going to end up doing absolutely nothing for 4 years due to our inability to re-take the Senate as Mitch will block everything like he did for 6 years under Obama, and we’re going to get the young Fascist Tom Cotton as our President for Life in 2024. When a centrist, do-nothing like Biden can’t stomp Fascism out, we have no options. I grieve for our country as it’s way worse today than it was 4 years ago when it could be chalked up to a weird one-off due to a myriad of things. One side wants Fascism and will stop at nothing to get it while we can’t turn enough people out to squash it.

Yahoo! has Biden at 264 EC votes. The knot in my stomach has loosened a bit.

The damage done to our country goes deeper than what one election can cure. We have decades of dedication ahead of us to fix what the Trumpists and republicans have done to our country — not just in the last 3 or 4 years, but over the last 30 years. Years of politicians saying we should not help children, or families, or the poor, or the sick, or people with disabilities, or people of color, because they are responsible for their own problems; it’s their fault they are poor; helping them will only make them more dependent, make them weaker. It’s good for children and their families to suffer and go without health care or adequate nutrition, because it will make them stronger. But, why then is it so important for all taxpayers to provide huge tax cuts and advantages to the 1%. Why is it the most important financial goal of our nation to pile tax riches on people already rich? Why should you and I pay for the maintenance and operation of their private jets? Why should golf course owners/investors get an environmental tax benefit for keeping their grass green, on top of all their other tax breaks? At the same time we ignore other environmental needs?
